
「鬼才導演」添布頓和「怪雞型男」尊尼特普老拍擋聚首,所向披靡。近廿年的合作裡,深情的「鉸剪人」(Edward Scissorhands, 中譯:幻海奇緣)、詭秘的無頭命案(Sleepy Hollow, 中譯:無頭谷)、瘋狂的朱古力掌門人(Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, 中譯:朱古力掌門人)和憤世的理髮師(Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Stree, 中譯:魔街理髮師)都讓我十分喜愛。
愛麗斯夢遊仙境,故事其實跟以前那套迪士尼卡通相差不遠;只是開首和結尾擴寫了,算是續集吧。劇情不在此累贅了,反而想略寫感想。
整齣電影讓我最感突兀的是結尾的部份。愛麗斯沒有選擇留在Wonderland,回到現實世界的她「失驚無神」提出生意大計,說要將父親的業務拓展至中國,並以香港為「英國佬」基地—又是殖民主義的演繹,令人失望。雖說迪士尼卡通伴我成長,它們備受爭議,甚至遭受文化學術界強烈批評也無可厚非。2010年,還在強調西方征服遠東,並且利用電影市場宣揚西方國家的經濟領導地位,實有推崇後殖民主義之嫌。
除此之外,我想不通為何愛麗斯沒有選擇留下來。電影開首的鋪敘,似乎提示了她跟現實世界的格格不入。她的「妙想天開」、「妙問妙答」的確值得編訂334通識課程的「高人」參考。瘋帽先生和Wonderland的動物比現實世界那些「死古古」的人更適合成為愛麗斯的朋友。她回到現實世界的選擇,好像對我潑了一頭冷水,好比聽到那些成年人說「與其說想像、談夢想,不如腳踏實地,捱生捱死」,令人沮喪,年終不知扼殺了多少小朋友珍貴的天真。到底我們為什麼總愛逃避現實,卻又無膽為夢想選擇「留下來」? 是我們對現實世界仍有眷戀,還是不相信夢想的美好需要你和我參與? 說穿了,我們對現實世界其實又愛又恨。童話故事雖然是不切實際,也許能平衡一下心裡的矛盾吧。
我最愛的角色還是尊尼特普演繹的瘋帽先生,因為夠瘋、夠癲、夠怪。我真希望能認識如此的一個朋友。此外,電影的色彩和視覺效果也值得一讚,皆因出自添布頓的想像手筆,美感獨樹一格。


I do think that the ending part is a lil awkward to mention the colonialism thing... haha. don't know what their intention is. Anyway. But I kinda knew she wouldn't stay... just because at first she didn't even remember wonderland a whole lot... She kept wanting to wake up. ReplyDeleteAnd yea, like you said we have to have the guts to choose to "stay" and not give up our own dream. I guess what the ending indicates is connecting the real world and the so called dream? Because we all must face the reality, and shouldn't give up our dreams, so the only way out is to balance... let the dream connect the world. Then you don't have to give up either one, you don't have to let down either side...
I have no idea how hard this can be carried out in reality. I understand it's always so discouraging... Just a thought. =v=
